Sidwell Friends, a co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks a Leadership Gift Officer to join its Office of School Advancement. The Leadership Gift Officer works to build and enhance relationships with all constituents for the purpose of increasing philanthropic financial support for Sidwell Friends School. The LGO must acquire, renew, and upgrade leadership annual giving donors through individual cultivation and solicitation. The role is focused on qualification of prospects, cultivating relationships, and soliciting those with capacity to give gifts of $1,000 to $50,000 on an annual basis. The LGO will also be responsible for identifying and referring potential major and planned giving prospects to the appropriate advancement and development staff. The LGO will be dedicated to maximizing annual gifts and identifying potential leadership donors through frequent, required travel to conduct personal solicitations and build relationships with individual donors. Management of leadership volunteers will also be a primary focus of this role.
A bachelor’s degree is required. The ideal candidate will also have 2-4 years of successful experience in a fundraising program with 1-2 years of experience building and cultivating relationships for the purpose of solicitation. Significant travel is required.
