Hillel International is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the overall strategic direction of Hillel’s donor service operations within the Global Leadership pillar. The Associate Vice President of Donor Services is responsible for overseeing all aspects of development-focused operations, including database systems, data analysis and revenue forecasting, donor and gift-related data processing, fundraising research, and varied internal and external reporting activities. The AVP of Donor Services is responsible for implementing strategies and processes that maximize the department’s effectiveness, efficiencies, and overall workflow. Supervising a team of six, the AVP of Donor Services will ensure excellence in all aspects of Hillel’s donor services work including, but not limited to donor communications and relations, event support and management, gift entry and data integrity.

The AVP of Donor Services will work closely with other members of the Global Leadership pillar and the volunteer and professional leadership of the Schusterman International Center to create and implement the best practices in fulfillment of Hillel’s mission.
The AVP of Donor Services will report to the Vice President of Global Leadership and be an integral member of the Global Leadership pillar and the Schusterman International Center team. This position will work out of Hillel International's Schusterman International Center in Washington, DC, with the possibility of remote work.
What You’ll do:
Lead the Donor Services Team in providing excellence in all aspects of Hillel’s donor services work including, but not limited to donor communications and relations, event support and management, gift entry and data integrity.
Responsible for the oversight, management, and strategic direction of all donor service activities within the department and across the organization, working in partnership with the Fiscal, Technology Operations, and Digital Marketing teams;
Work closely with senior leadership to create and maintain regular campaign updates and reports; Participate in the tracking, forecasting, and strategic planning of Hillel’s annual campaign efforts.
Oversee processing of all gift transactions and all related operational activities, including donor acknowledgement, pledge collection, database management, and data synchronization, ensuring that work is carried out in a timely and high-quality manner;
Oversee database expansion and enhancement to create systems, processes, and reporting to support our expanded needs of tracking donor engagement, moves management solicitations, society memberships, etc. in addition to donations.
Lead the charge for creating an organizational culture around the use and implementation of salesforce. Will be responsible for providing necessary training and resources to staff and will serve as the professional to hold colleagues accountable for adoption of the tool as the way to measure and track the work of our department.
Responsible for the oversight and direction of systems and procedures for effective research and prospect development activities;
Direct the re-launch of Hillel's Renaissance Campaign for mid-level donors, with a focus on donor retention, gift renewal and creation of a donor pipeline in coordination with Digital/Direct Marketing and Global Leadership Society engagement efforts.
Stay abreast of philanthropic, economic, social, and community trends related to Hillel, the Jewish community, and the non-profit sector.
Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills; fine attention to details.
8-10 years of development operations oversight or related technical team management experience
Proven track-record of driving organizational change and transformation through influence, supervision and mentorship of early career Professionals), and collaboration with key staff members;
Knowledge and experience working with Salesforce
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills;
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high level of discretion in handling sensitive situations;
Thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to plan and organize multiple projects simultaneously while still ensuring deadlines are met in a timely manner
Work and communicate with a variety of stakeholders with a proven record of building strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.
