Trinity in Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks an experienced Annual Fund Director, reporting to the Director of Development and working cooperatively with the Major Gifts Officer and Director of Alumnae Affairs, among others. The Annual Fund Director must be a hands-on fund raiser with experience developing and implementing annual appeal programs to diversified constituencies using a range of tactics including direct mail, phonathons, social media, class committees, reunion class opportunities, and other tactics of modern collegiate annual funds. The director should have a track record of increasing annual fund participation among classes, and average gift sizes. Trinity is particularly interested in candidates who have created successful annual fund initiatives among alumnae and alumni populations who have graduated since the Year 2000; experience with diverse populations of collegiate graduates is preferred, especially a track record of fund raising with African American, Hispanic and female populations.
Excellence in writing and oral presentation essential, along with effective communication talents for a range of constituencies. The director must be able to travel, to work occasional evenings and weekends, and able to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking team. Successful candidates should present a track record of at least 5-8 years in fund raising, with annual fund duties for at least 2-3 years as part of that portfolio. Trinity is preparing a new capital campaign and the director will work cross-functionally with other staff to ensure that the annual fund provides a strong platform for the new campaign.
Founded in 1897 as one of the nation’s first Catholic colleges for women, Trinity today is a 2000-student diversified university that continues the historic women’s college as the College of Arts & Sciences, along with four coeducational units in professional education in Education, Nursing/Health Professions, Professional Studies, and Business/Graduate Studies.
