Voto Latino (VL) seeks a dynamic, seasoned Vice President of Development, who has a
passion to meet the moment that our country is experiencing. A new position, the VP of
Development will oversee, cultivate and manage corporate and foundation partnerships as the
organization expands its ability to engage, educate and empower young Latinos and build a
stronger and more inclusive democracy.
The Vice President of Development will be an integral partner to the President/CEO in raising
money for a 501(c)3 and related 501(c)4 organization with a total budget of $8 million. The ideal
candidate is a forward-thinker with successful experience in fundraising and donor outreach, as
well as donor data reporting.
The Vice President of Development will report to the Managing Director and begin immediately.
Serve as a contributing member of VL’s strategic leadership team; building and
managing Voto Latino’s portfolio of current and prospective corporate and foundation
Assist Voto Latino’s President in establishing and cultivating relationships and soliciting
funding from major corporate prospects; identifying targeted donors, tracking donor
contacts, and updating donor profiles on a regular basis.
Staff Voto Latino’s President and board members, and assist other VL members and
volunteers on fundraising strategies as needed.
Research the missions and funding priorities of foundations and other grant-making
institutions in accordance with VL’s mission; establish and maintain personal contact and
relationship with foundations and program officers.
Manage grant proposals and requirements, working with the finance liaison to develop
budgets and reports.
Supervise VL’s fundraising events, including playing a major role in our 15-year

Coordinate and participate in visits between the President and major donors and

At least 5 years of successful experience fundraising
Existing relationships with corporations/foundations
Strong writing and communication skills
Experience meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work individually and in a team environment
Be a strong self-starter who is highly organized
Ability to be intuitive and forward thinking; creative problem solver
Consistent record of juggling multiple tasks
Demonstrated commitment to and awareness of Latino civil rights and/or issues of social
