The Assistant Manager, Leadership Campaigns assists the Manager of Major Gifts with specific donor portfolios assigned to members of Senior Leadership (inclusive of the President of the Kennedy Center, SVP of Development, and VP of Development). Portfolio management includes research and the development of cultivation strategies that lead to donor acquisition for annual gifts of $50,000+. It also includes direct and indirect stewardship, as well as ongoing maintenance of restricted and unrestricted contributions of the current and prospective members of the portfolio. This portfolio must assist in raising specific annual general operating support goals, but is ultimately working with a portfolio that contributes in excess of $25M per year to the Kennedy Center. This position serves as one of the main Development Department liaisons with the Office of the President for meeting scheduling and domestic/international trip preparation and execution. The position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the President’s special constituency groups and the Board of Trustees, which requires meeting preparation and event planning across multiple teams and departments. The incumbent manages his/her time, resources, and work load to maximize productivity and financial results; exercises discretion; evaluates complex internal and external relationships; and regularly takes initiative to fulfill the objectives and goals of Leadership Campaigns. This position works in tandem with another Assistant Manager and generates work for two Assistants and, at times, an intern.
Bachelor’s degree required. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
Minimum of three years of development or related experience required.
Working knowledge of the performing arts is preferred.
