Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, a national center for the production, presentation, development and study of American Theater, seeks candidates for its Membership Manager position.
The Membership Manager is responsible for executing Arena Stage’s direct response membership marketing program efforts to drive revenue growth from individual donors. This position manages all aspects of the direct mail program which includes renewals, lapsed donor and acquisition mailings.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develops and directs strategies, policies and procedures driving integrated mail campaigns to cultivate, acquire, upgrade, and renew members, donors and prospects.
Identify, develop and implement creative strategies and campaigns geared toward increasing both total membership and annual member income.
Prepare all solicitation materials for the membership program, including but not limited to letters and emails for prospects, new and renewing members, benefits listings, and programming information required to support membership fundraising efforts.
Maintains appropriate administration systems to manage and track the membership program, including daily use of the organizational database (Tessitura) for fundraising purposes from individuals
Maintain the annual individual campaigns calendar on a day-by-day basis
Responsible for maximizing the acquisition and retention of membership revenue through the highest levels of stewardship and engagement
Oversee the creation of membership collateral (brochures, correspondence, digital assets).
Work with the Communications department to execute a digital strategy to engage donors and prospects
Participate in donor cultivation and stewardship events.
Ensure superior customer service for all donors and execute regular retention efforts.
Provide support for tele-fundraising appeals as needed.
Assist as needed with the Young Patrons Board
Other duties as necessary to support the Development Department

Successful candidates should have:
Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience administering a membership program and/or working in a similar capacity within a Development Department.
Cultural Institution and/or performing arts background
Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends.
