The Inaugural Development Director is responsible for the strategy and execution of fundraising activities for The Nicholson Project. The successful candidate will be the company’s first fundraising hire, and this critical and transformative role will help scale the organization. Consequently, we seek an independent and experienced development specialist who can plan and execute effective fundraising strategies and also work closely with the Founder/President Stefanie Reiser, the inaugural Board of Directors, and Inaugural Program Director. The initial contract will be for two years, part-time, and is supported by a private donation. www.nicholsonproject.org
Since this is a new organization, individual donors, special events and donor stewardship will be the focus of the first year. Corporate, Foundation, and other contributed revenue support is expected after a track record of successful operations.
The Development Director is responsible for
1.Developing and executing fund development:
Operating Support (growing to estimated $250,000/year by yr 3)
Individual giving program
Institutional funding from private, public and corporate foundations and government sources.
2. Board Engagement:
Assist the Founder/President in effectively engaging the current Board of Directors (5 Members) and growing the board over time.
Work with the board to design and execute 1 major event annually as part of the overall fundraising plan. Once the nature of the event is determined, the organization will hire a separate special event planner to help execute the event.
Attend all Board meetings. Manage and track Board Members annual individualized commitments.
3. Communications with and stewardship of stakeholder relationships to achieve fundraising goals.

Additional Salary Information: Open to Employee or Contractor status. This position can be worked onsite or remotely. Attending meetings and events as needed at the Nicholson Project location is required. Preferred start date is September 2019.
